Bunnahabhain 18 year old is encased in a smoked oak glass bottle with dual labelling. It is presented in a quality seaweed green gift carton. This beautiful golden spirit's nose releases honeyed nuts and a slightly sea-induced salty tang. Rich toffee and leathery oak aromas can be sensed upon further inspection. The palate is influenced by mellow sherried nuts and shavings of the finest natural oak wood. The voyage ends with dry notes that are interspersed with mixed spices fading magnificently into a light salt and sherry finale. Un-chillfiltered.

Colour: Bright Gold. Nose: At bottling strength, a soft toffee sweet but faintly spicy flavour counterbalances the trace of delicate phenols and fruit. An all encompassing smoothness brings these together. A touch of water allows the seaweed and salt to come through but not enough to overpower the vanilla and honey sweetness with just a trace of new mown hay and peat at the finish. Body: An intense depth that is exceptionally balanced and warming. Palate: An instant warming tang of smoke fades into smooth floral scents, which blends seamlessly into an oaky nuttiness and leaves a lasting sweetness on the taste. With a touch of water, the peaty warmth fills the mouth but does not overshadow the sweet chocolate smoothness. This is balanced by the rich toffee taste and slowly fades into a delicate hint of heather and peat smoke. Finish: Full bodied, long with a luxurious oily smoothness.

Colour: Bright Red Gold. Nose: At bottling strength the aroma seems quite closed giving only a rich, sweet scent but a touch of water releases all the multitude of different flavours. The initial sweet, sherry sweetness is quickly followed but the time-honoured Islay peat tang. After this opening burst of flavour there is a smooth fruit ripeness that complements the tang of salt in the background. Body: Rich round and full. Palate: The burst of peat that fills the mouth is quickly restrained by a sherry sweetness that slowly develops into spicy apple fruitiness. Finish: Very long and warming leaving a distinct tang of Islay.

Nose: A lovely sherried nose with notes of fig, orange marmalade, hints of leather and a touch of smoke. Palate: Medium to full bodied. Rich sherry fruit cake, milk chocolate, creamy toffee, light oak, a hint of white pepper creating a lovely spicy tang. Finish: Softly spicy, tingling with a nutty note, a hint of salt, lingering then gently fades. Appearance: A tantalising natural colour of golden chestnuts. Each drop of this rare and un-chillfiltered limited malt has been perfected using a dual-location-maturation process; first transferring the spirit into gloriously refined Gonzalez Byass Oloroso Sherry casks and then moving each cask from the mainland, where the whisky develops, back to the island for its final undisturbed year. Its natural colour and high strength - at 46.3% - ensure that the essence of Tobermory authenticity is encapsulated in every bottle. Uniquely blown glassware is gift-boxed in fine dark-gold oak, with the bottle hand wrapped in a gift tissue wrap that illustrates Tobermory Bay - a commission by painter, Sonas Maclean. Final touches include a three-piece insert; historic photography with the Master Distiller's tasting notes and a gift card with bay imagery. Like everything about this gem of a whisky, this is one to be treasured.
