This particular unit has a number of features which make it stand out from other DVD Home Theatre systems. You will be able to connect this home theatre system to your TV by HDMI. HDMI will allow more information down the line, as apposed to a standard SCART or Component connection, which is still available if your TV does not have an HDMI input. You will see an improvement in quality from this Samsung HT-D550 between the HDMI and standard connections. This is an upscale. It will take the standard information from the DVD disk and refine the image to get more clarity and detail out of the film. Meaning you will be able to see more then you have ever seen before. As previously mentioned this Samsung HT-D550 home theatre system has 5.1 channels. meaning you have 2 speakers positioned either side of your TV, 1 centre speaker and 2 rear speakers. Giving you greater clarity of sound, so you can hear the film was it was intended to be listened too. so you have more of a feeling as though you are at the cinema you will be able to enjoy a full surround sound. This includes a Power Bass. You can really feel the action on the screen, with this included Sub Woofer.The HDMI connection for this Samsung HT-D550 DVD system allows an ARC or Audio Return Channel, meaning to get the sound from your TV through your speakers, all you need is to set the HDMI cable to allow the audio return through it.
