First up to the plate are SOS, the home-grown trio whose quarterly night at the venue has grown to become one of the clubs most popular events, and a bash that inspires intense devotion from its 2000+ regulars. Arguably Britain’s premier house outfit, the rise and rise of Omid, Demi, and Desyn has been relentless, their productions, club gigs, and compilations all helping to establish them as a global tour de force. 2010 will see them approach supernova status as they tour the UK and the world, unleash a slew of productions and remixes, and develop their live show for the festival season. Deep, uplifting, melodic, and at all times on point, SOS’s two discs brim with their charismatic swagger, their individual characters evident in each mix as they drop cheeky edits, splice spoken word vocals, and generally tear it up. Mix 1 is the sound of the 3 DJs giving it their all across 28 tracks. Artists include: Silver City, Steve Angello, SOS, Matthew Bushwacka, Hardrive, Audio Soul Project, Blacksoul Project, and many more. Mix 2 delves further into SOS’s first productions, highlighting their prowess as sonic craftsmen par excellence and setting out their statement of intent for 2010 and beyond. This time the focus is on the WMC (Winter Music Conference).The WMC is a weeklong festival spread around South Beach and downtown Miami with most of Miami’s famous clubs, such as Space, Cameo, Mansion, Ink, Twilo and Opium Garden playing host. Aimed at professionals, such as DJs, record label reps and promoters, the event has been held every March since the mid-1980’s and has become a very important part of the calendar for both professionals and party-lovers with around 30% of attendees travelling from outside the U.S in search of sun, fun and new records by the tonne. The week culminates in the Ultra Music Festival, held on Saturday in Bicentennial Park, which is the single largest electronic music concert in the U.S. Hundreds of DJs play for 14 hours in front of 50,000 people. Underground Miami celebrates this year’s WMC with a sensational hot mix across 3CD’s. This year’s all star line-features Laidback Luke, Michael Woods, Afrojack & Bobby Burns, Kim Fai, 2000 And One, Marc Romboy & Stephan Bodzin, Joris Voorn, Kaiserdisco & Flavio Diaz to name but a few, least not forgetting Miami’s newest party scene Dubstep.
