Studio Albums 1967-68: (1st / Horizontal / Idea) (6lp Vinyl Box)
Rhino UK Product Information
Singing siblings Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb (the first letters of each word in Bee Gees - B & G - stand for “Brothers Gibb”), and Australian instrumentalists Vince Melouney and Colin Petersen launched the group's extraordinary musical output with Bee Gees' 1st, Horizontal and Idea, each now newly remastered and expanded as a double LP with rare and previously unreleased material. In all, this collectible box boasts 40 bonus tracks. The revisiting of this trio of seminal LPs marks the beginning of the first-ever restoration of the Bee Gees diverse catalog, which will ultimately be revitalized and upgraded from start to finish. It's also the first time the Bee Gees have opened their archives to mine rarities for such an ambitious endeavor. The first disc in each double-LP title features the original album; the second is packed with bonus material, much of it previously unissued. One of the most successful groups in popular music, the Bee Gees career spanned five decades, seven GRAMMYs - including prestigious Lifetime Achievement and Legend Awards - eight platinum albums, 60 charting singles and worldwide sales exceeding 175 million albums. The Bee Gees phenomenal success throughout the 1970s often obscures the fact that by the time the blockbuster Saturday Night Fever soundtrack transcended disco and redefined R&B dance music, the group already had more than ten albums and a string of worldwide hits under their then-sequined belts. A listen to the Bee Gees earliest recordings on THE STUDIO ALBUMS 1967 - 1968 proves that these most harmonious of brothers possessed the musical Midas touch from the very beginning. Fans agree - the companion CD boxed set, a 10,000 piece limited edition of this title, sold out within weeks of its release. Bee Gees' 1st, originally released in 1967, reached #7 on Billboard®'s Pop Album chart and delivered a trio of top 20 smashes: “To Love Somebody,” “New York Mining Disaster 1941,” and “Holiday.” Disc 2 features 14 previously unreleased tracks, including alternate versions of most of the album cuts plus the recorded debut of “Gilbert Green,” “House Of Lords,” “All Around The Clock,” and other ultra-rare treasures. Horizontal, which debuted in early 1968, introduced the signature hit “Massachusetts,” a chart-topper in Britain that went to #11 in the U.S., and the standouts “World” (a global hit), “Harry Braff” and the psychedelic title track. Disc 2 features thirteen rarities including nine previously unreleased tracks, among them “Out Of Line,” “All My Christmases Came At Once,” plus the medley “Silent Night/Hark The Herald Angels Sing,” one of only two cuts in the box that doesn't feature a Gibb writing credit. Idea followed in August 1968 and broke the Bee Gees into the top ten of the U.S. Billboard singles chart for the first time with the classics “I've Got To Get A Message To You” (#8) and “I Started A Joke” (#6). Disc 2 includes alternate mixes of “Idea,” “Kitty Can” and “Let There Be Love,” the film songs “Chocolate Symphony” and “Gena's Theme” plus two previously unissued Coca Cola commercials. These historic reissues look as good as they sound. Presented in deluxe packaging with three gatefold jackets, the LP's booklets feature many beautiful photos from the era and insightful liner notes by '60s sage Andrew Sandoval-including extensive new interviews with Barry and Robin Gibb on their career and music.]]>

When The Levees Broke: A Requiem In Four Acts
MovieMail Ltd Product Information
When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, director Spike Lee, like many who watched the unfolding drama on television news, was shocked not only by the scale of the disaster, but by the slow, inept and disorganized response of the emergency and recovery effort. In this four part chronicle, tagged as "an American tragedy', he recounts the story of one of America's most profound natural disasters. In addition to revisiting the hours leading up to the arrival of category 5 hurricane Katrina before it hit the coast of Louisiana, his film tells the personal stories of those who lived to talk about it, and at the same time explores the underbelly of a nation still divided along race and class lines.

Greenberg
The Hut Product Information
Greenberg unites Ben Stiller (Meet the Parents Zoolander Tropic Thunder) with Academy Award®-nominated writer and director Noah Baumbach (The Squid and the Whale Fantastic Mr. Fox) in walking the fragile line between humour and heartbreak to tell the witty and moving tale of Roger Greenberg. Also starring Jennifer Jason Leigh (Margot at the Wedding The Anniversary Party) Rhys Ifans (The Boat that Rocked Notting Hill) and Greta Gerwig (Nights and Weekends) Greenberg proves that mid-life may just be the ideal time to finally decide to grow up and embrace the life you never planned on... After a stint in New York and another in a mental institution Roger Greenberg (Stiller) is single fortyish and deliberately doing nothing with his life. Wondering how life sent him adrift he is in search of a place to re-start and agrees to house-sit and look after pet dog Mahler for six weeks in Los Angeles for his younger brother while he vacations with his family in Vietnam. Greenberg grew up in L.A. and often reflects on re-visiting the past where he clearly feels that his life broke off. However since envy and paranoia eat away at every connection he seems to make whether a thorny one with a highly successful former college bandmate or a reunion with his patient soft-spoken old friend Ivan (Ifans) who’s living in a motel while separated from his wife and son. But Greenberg is too self-obsessed to notice or care about other people’s problems. The exception is his former girlfriend Beth (Jason Leigh) a divorced mother of two who sets him straight as he awkwardly attempts to rekindle their extinct 15-year-old relationship. Greenberg soon realises that old friends aren't necessarily still best friends and finds that his vulnerability immediately endears him to his brother’s sweet young assistant Florence (Gerwig) who helps him navigate Los Angeles and take care of Mahler. What begins as a courtesy to her employer develops into a charmingly eccentric and unexpectedly significant connection. As Greenberg discovers there is only so much nothing you can do the awkward beauty he builds with Florence starts to look more and more like a reason to be happy. Special Features: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Greenberg: Ben Stiller and the cast talk about the character Roger Greenberg and how they brought this humorous story to life. Greenberg Loves Los Angeles: Writer/Director Noah Baumbach shares his aspirations for making the film. Noah Baumbach Takes a Novel Approach: Noah Baumbach discusses how essential writing is to filmmaking and how he personally turned to great American novelists for inspiration.

Australia / A Good Year
The Hut Product Information
Australia Moulin Rouge's Baz Luhrman and Nicole Kidman reteam for this epic that pays homage to their homeland. In Australia Lady Sarah Ashley (Kidman) is a prim and proper Englishwoman who journeys to Australia in the years before World War II reached the country's shores. She is determined to have her estranged husband sell his cattle ranch to a monopoly-craving businessman named King Carney (Bryan Brown) but when she arrives Lord Ashley is dead and her plan to sell the ranch changes when she sees an employee named Fletcher (David Wenham) cheating her husband's business and mistreating a young boy named Nullah (Brandon Walters) because he is of mixed race. Urged on by both pride and a sense of justice Lady Ashley wants to drive her herd of cattle to Darwin so she can sell them to the troops but she'll require the help of an independent cowboy (fellow Aussie Hugh Jackman) to get them there. Special Features: Two Deleted Scenes: What about the Drove? Angry Staff Serve Dinner A Good Year London banker Max Skinner (Russell Crowe) is a cutthroat workaholic who cares only about winning and making money. During his rise to the top Max has forgotten the important life lessons that his favourite uncle Henry (Albert Finney) taught him during summers at his vineyard in Provence. Estranged from Henry for years Max is surprised to learn that his uncle has passed away and as his closest living relative he is set to inherit the estate La Siroque. True to form Max heads down to Provence for a quick visit in order to assess the value of the property with dollar signs in his eyes. Once immersed in Henry’s world and the charm of La Siroque Max begins to remember his visits and how much Henry and those summers meant to him. Other surprises--including a budding romance with fetching local cafe owner Fanny Chenal (Marion Cotillard) and a visit from a young American claiming to be Henry’s illegitimate daughter (Abbie Cornish)--prolong Max’s visit making Provence more and more difficult to resist. Can Max be content leaving his fast-paced life in London for lazy days in a French vineyard? Or will he sell his estate to the highest bidder memories and all and return to his hectic lifestyle? Crowe shows his softer-side--and even throws in some physical comedy--as a man revisiting his past and considering his future. Finney is a charmer as Henry in flashback scenes (where Freddie Highmore plays a young Max) that establish his character’s joie de vivre and the tender relationship shared between uncle and nephew. Special Features: Postcards From Provence Behind-the-Scenes Experience A Feature-Length Hybird of Video Featurettes Audio Commentary by Director/Producer Ridley Scott and Screenwriter Marc Klein 3 Russell Crowe Music Videos and More!
