Stans No Tubes ZTR Olympic Disc MTB 28 Hole Rim: The ZTR Olympic is fully compatible with the 21mm yellow tape and valve method for tubeless use. Most riders elect to use the thin 5g yellow spoke tape and no rim strip. The tape and valve method creates a lighter wheelset and the rim design will allow you to run extremely low pressures with very little or no burping. Every other rim in the world has a bead hook. This rim does not. This new rim design will eliminate the bead hook and move the sidewall of the rim down by 2-3mm. By eliminating the bead hook and lowering the sidewall by 2-3mm we reduce the weight of the rim. Some of this material can be used in the center part of the rim making it stronger and stiffer. The curve of the rim sidewall is the same shape as the bead of the tyre so they fit together like a ball and socket joint. Stans No Tubes ZTR Podium MMX Disc MTB 32 Hole Rim: Brand new, ultra-lightweight XC race rim from No Tubes. Under 290g. Brand new for 2010, the Podium MMX rim is a development of the hugely successful Race rims. Weighing in at under 290g per rim they build a superlight wheelset whilst still being wide enough to hold tyres in a great profile. Sub 1230g wheelsets are easily achievable. Designed to run non-UST tyres without tubes they feature the next generation bead hook and ultra low profile sidewalls to keep the tyre firmly seated at all times and virtually eliminate pressure loss through burping . As a full-on XC race rim, they have a limited lifespan of 3000-5000 miles depending on the rider and also have a recommended rider weight limit of 170lbs but will provide the best performance possible. You need to seal the rim with tape such as the 25mm Yellow spoke sealing tape to make them airtight and use an Olympic valve for running them tubeless. They can also be used with tubes if necessary. Recommended rider weight limit of 170 pounds Intended for low pressure use, 15 - 33 PSI with 2.0 tyres Rim weight 288g on average Tubeless compatible using No Tubes 25mm wide yellow tape and Olympic valve stems (no rim strip needed.
