This hole has been increased in size compared to the Fractal Define R2, providing greater compatibility. At the front of the case you will find space for two 120mm fans, with one 120mm fan supplied. Both fans have air filters and are designed to introduce cooler air into the case as well as aid cooling of the hard drives. You'll also notice that the inside of the door is coated in noise reducing foam. The only down side to this is that the Fractal Design Define R2 can not accommodate a fan controller that fits into a 5.25\" drive bay due to space restrictions. But that should not be a problem because Fractal Design have supplied a very handy little fan controller that uses up one PCI slot, which can control up to three fans!
