The AER: Alpha is a single channel / 2-input, 40-watt amp with a single 8' twincone speaker all in a ~10' x 10' x 10' package weighing in at under 15lbs. The Alpha defines the starting point of serious acoustic amplification at AER. Based on the success and the experience with the Compact 60 they have developed a even smaller lightweight model that has no difficulties living up to the rigors of the road. Reduced to the Max, along with the AER typical quality standards - without renunciation of what is essential for superb performance - the Alpha is a full size member of the AER product family. Input one includes a combo XLR-1/4' jack for mic or pickup, 24V phantom power and gain control. Input 2 includes a 1/4' jack, input sensitivity control (PAD switch), gain, & mid-range colour/contour filter switch. Both channels combined go through a 3-band EQ, digital reverb, effects loop (if desired) and master volume. The Alpen is the successor to the E7 and there are great improvements on aspects other than just the sound. The first improvement is clearly in the amplifier section.
