Designed by Genelecs R&D team in co-operation with internationally acclaimed Finnish designer Harri Koskinen the 5040A subwoofer features an unobtrusive modern appearance.The 5040A features a magnetically shielded downward firing 6 1/2" bass driver attached to a die-cast aluminium base plate. The base plate also serves as the chassis for the 40 Watt amplifier and crossover filter circuitry. The 5040A packs a respectable punch of 98 d B maximum sound pressure level.The built-in crossover unit on the 5040A features six RCA input connectors for five main channels and one LFE channel and five RCA output connectors for the 6010A loudspeakers. The main channels have a fixed high pass filter to work with Genelec 6010A loudspeakers. In addition to the RCA connectors a 3.5 mm stereo jack input connector is provided for convenient connection to portable audio players or computers. The 7050B extends the LF response down to 25 Hz with amazing bass articulation. This is made possible in such a compact enclosure thanks to Genelecs patented Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE™) technology. With 5 main input channels and an LFE channel with 85/120 Hz reproduction bandwidth selection the 8020A/7050B system fulfills the needs of 5.1 productions. You can also use the 7050B to complement the 8030A monitor.The 7050B is designed to complement Genelecs 8020A active monitors in stereo and surround applications and the 8030A in stereo only setup. The subwoofer features a single 8" (205mm) proprietary driver with a 70 Watt power amplifier.It has a frequency response from 25 Hz - 85 Hz (± 3d B) and the ability to deliver short term sine wave of 100 d B SPL in half space at 1 metre. Like all Genelec LSE™ active subwoofers the 7050B also features extremely low distortion.The amplifier unit which is integrated into the cabinet consists of the active crossover filter driver overload protection circuits and a power amplifier. Two input connectors and adjustable sensitivity provide easy connection and adaptability to different acoustical conditions.The Genelec Laminar Spiral Enclosure™ (LSE™) bass reflex cabinet is made of a sheet metal rolled into a spiral shape and clamped between thick MDF side panels.
